I said in a shocked voice as I believed I was no different to anybody else. There were reasons for my often depressive state; I had a stuttering speech impediment for a start.
He continued:
“Yes you are. You very rarely smile, you are negative about most issues and you always seem to be carrying the world on your shoulders”.
He was aged 53 and he continued:
“I used to be like you and then I was given some advice, of which I am now going to relay to you. Whenever you start to become slightly depressed or in the state of feeling sorry for yourself – start to watch the news on the TV. You may then realise that you are in fact one of the lucky ones.”
I had a long think about what he had said. I had never been a big reader or watcher of the news, but decided to give it a go. The advice he gave me was totally correct, the news from around the world and even my own country was quite shocking. It soon became clear to me that I had to stop this ridiculous stressed out, depressive and negative way of life that I had been leading and that I needed to start appreciating just how lucky I was.
I have now commenced a new career in the link building sector and have taken my new found positive attitude with me.

It can be tough to have a positive outlook on life, when life throws your curve balls and your plans don’t pan out the way you hope they would..
The very first of my optimistic thinking tips is to practice and make it into a habit of asking the best questions. So what am I trying to say? In retrospect, our frame of mind is mainly based on the questions we ask ourselves everyday. Don’t believe me? Just watch your own thoughts for an hour or so. A common mistake the majority of people make is asking themselves the wrong questions. Things like “Why does this always happen to me?” or “Why does my life have to be so difficult?” Many of these questions are based on the assumption that “this” always happens to you, and that life is, in fact, hard. This only drills these beliefs deeper into your head and solidifies them as your experience the world.
Try asking yourself questions that are much less negative and more likely to help aligned you with your desires. Perhaps, questions like “What is the positive outcome to this situation?” or “What am I grateful for today?” Questions like these help strengthen positive beliefs into your mind and can help you stay optimistic. It will take some work at first to accept these beliefs (after all, you’ve thought the old beliefs for so long), but the results will be more than worth it..
Another one of my positive thinking tips is to start keeping a gratitude journal. This can be something as simple as a notebook that you keep by your bed and you write in it every night. Just jot down a page or a certain number of things that you are grateful for in your life. What you write down can be as simple as “I’m thankful I woke up this morning” or “I’m thankful it was a sunny and beautiful day”. In my gratitude journal, I once wrote down “I am grateful I caught the bus to work just in time today” and then the next day I wrote “I am grateful I missed the bus because it gave me time to read the newspaper in a cafe while I waited for the next bus.” Doing this often enough, you will start to realize that life isn’t as ugly as it seems, and that you will start to have a more optimistic perspective on life.
My last positive thinking tip is to sit down and write about your ideal life, exactly the way you want it to be. Make sure you write down every single detail. When I did this I practically wrote 10 pages about every last possible detail you can think of. I was very descriptive of all the places I wanted to travel and live life, how much money I made, and who I wanted to spend it with. Doing this may take some time, but it will make you feel so good and so determined to make your dreams come true, that I strongly advise you find the time to give it a shot.
Go along with these simple tips and soon enough you’ll see that your disposition about life will change for the better. Positive thinking really can improve your life and help you achieve things that you never thought possible.

Best Ways To Challenge Your Negative Thoughts
Negative thinking is something really dangerous if you don’t keep it under control. Negative thoughts in fact can become as addictive as a drug and can bring many mental and phsycial disease to develop.
What is really important to remember is that the way you feel is often related to your view of the world. This means by simply changing how you see your reality you can make significance changes and improve your lives.

1. Awareness. First step in order to get rid of negative thoughts is to see and recognize them. In other words, you have to recognize that you are having a negative thought.
2. Log in time. Anytime you are thinking about something negative and you realize it, write down your thought. Then review your log when you are in a better mood try to look at it in a different way and write down your new perspective.
3. Visualization. Anytime you recognize you are having a negative thought and you have logged it it time, take a further step and try to visualize it. 4. Gratitude. Be grateful for anything good that happens to you during the day. After doing it for a few days, you will start seeing some changes already. You will feel more positive and happy and the reason is that what you are focusing on is always reflecting on the way you feel.
5. Socialize. People around you affect your mood more than you think. So always try to hang out with positive people whotend to see the bright side even on the smallest challenges (e.g. finding the keys or the glasses).
